The Kelva beach is very beautiful and is sometimes called as Kelva or Kelwa beach. This beach is situated in the state of Maharashtra in India. It’s the most popular during the weekends and a lot of tourist visits this Kelwa Beach. It’s a very good tourist attraction. The beach spreads across around 8 kilometers long. This beach is sometimes overcrowded with local people, especially during weekends which really shows that there the popularity is growing in this place

Kelva Fort


The Kelva Fort is an ancient structure present here that belongs to the 16th century and was constructed by the Portuguese. This fort was also used by the Maratha ruler, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, for his own defense purposes. Most of the region is covered with Suru trees.

Shitladevi Mandir

This land has been rendered holy lay the foot-prints of lord Ram. Kelwa town coasts of a very ancient temple of the Goddess Shitala-Mata. This temple, built in very distant past, underwent a complete renewal and restoration at the hands of a seventhly female ruler Devi Ahilyabai Holkar about three hundred years ago-thereafter, the temple structure had become worn-out and frayed.

Kelva Pankot


This was built on a rock where Danda creek meets the sea. From the location, the Portuguese could keep a watch on the creek as well as sea. This fort is boat shaped, and still intact. During the low tide, the sea water clears and we can walk to the fort. The reference for this fort is found in a letter written by Chimaji Appa in 1739, during the Maratha-Portuguese war.

You also have something called as the Kelva Dam and was constructed years ago for the purpose of supplying water to the farmers of the Palghar area. This has been a dam used to store water in the Kelva area. A lot of people travel to this place, especially during the weekends. It is great place to visit during the rainy season.

Edvan Ashapuri Temple


Ashapuri temple situated at edwan village this temple is built on a rock in the sea situated at sea shore sea water is surrounded from three sides and goddess ashapuri is in a cave.

15 minutes walk from ashapuri temple and you will achieve compound of swayambhu shankar temple (Lord Shiva's) from here you can see the old bedgraved light house in the ocean which is reachable by walking amid low tide as it were.
